Look in his eye,
that bird in the cage;
Born and raised for slaughter,
a caste assigned by our race.
It holds fear,
in anticipation of the gore,
like his kin chopped before him,
as if he doesn't know.
There are two reasons we are so cruel,
One is our stomach's greed.
The other is the sense of power
to imprison every other breed.
So we relentlessly destruct
everything that we need.
Innocent lives being butchered
even as you read.
It is too late to seek forgiveness,
for all that we do.
Maybe God did exist once,
but we killed him too.
