I know your smile,
and I know there is more.
I have seen the sea in your eyes,
and I have been washed to the shore.
I have lived your lies,
I have touched the flames.
I have stepped in the shallow,
and have been swept away.
But I wander deeper.
I know the territory.
I have seen the worst in you,
and I have found it is me.
and I know there is more.
I have seen the sea in your eyes,
and I have been washed to the shore.
I have lived your lies,
I have touched the flames.
I have stepped in the shallow,
and have been swept away.
But I wander deeper.
I know the territory.
I have seen the worst in you,
and I have found it is me.
Here's my issue with the last verse.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't give me an explanation for why I would venture further. Although you could potentially leave that to the imagination, there are way too many possibilities, which is why in spite your last line, I find it a shade incomplete.
Great stuff!!!
